Working in fashion
means that people judging you by every step you take on the
street. Every suit and every dress is under the eye of the whole
crowd. But it's always a fight between individuality and mainstream.
Following trends or setting it, this is what the they expect from
you.
But why choosing one
path and changing everything which stands for you?
When I started to
work in fashion I was always used to express my personal style in my
way. But this isn't that easy. I learned a lot and choose very often
the wrong things but more often the right things. I had this lessons.
It's not nice being judged for wearing the wrong sneakers or don't
wearing them after all. With many years in the business it become
more easy to decide which trend is going to be the next must have or
which is definitely out of fashion. But the point is, that all the
creatures working in this area are supposed to figure out, which
things are working for them and which are absolutely hilarious. And
trust me, there's more than one trend every season and not all of
them are really suitable for everyone or worth to follow. And that's
the point. Fashion and taste is the confidence or even more the
courage to stand for your decisions. Even if you chose and old
lumberjack shirt and boots. Even if your choices are bold and
unconventional: What's today out, tomorrow could be the hottest
fashion! But it needs courage to stand out if the row and start
acting like a fashionista.
Some people have that
courage. Especially in Berlin, which actually doesn't mean that
mixing up pieces and trying to be in front of the attention is always
workings. Mostly the fashion guys in Berlin are looking kind of
fished out of the rag pile. And this is really scary. Layering old
things they're should not even called vintage. Having ugly and bulky
shoes. Not to mention the three weeks unwashed hair. Is this really
fashion?
And what is with
those, who care about their style and look effortless and timeless or
are generally used to be a little posh but classy? This are those
side of the crowd, which is supposed to avoid risks? Which is a
solution of the issue, but the best one, regarding the point of
expressing individuality?
Clear is, that
fashion is kind of art and should express feelings and personal
needs. But it's also an important part of success. Just thing about
power suits or cocktail dresses. Both are examples for the importance
of dressing in a professional way and parts of the whole thing. More
precious it's one of the secrets of success. But what I'm about to
say is, that fashion is a weapon and a horn of plenty full of
inspiration for all different types of people out there. And we
should use it to express our type and our vision of us in this world!
Fashion is all about making life a good time and fun! So go further
into a sphere where we don't judge about the Hermes bag or the Prada
shoes, more likely into a way we accept each other and respect who
they are in what they're wearing!
